Long time + no post = lots of pictures

Ok so we are going to go from this week back to Thanksgiving. These are in reverse order, but who really cares anyway!?

Morgan got her highchair this week! Grandma and Grandpa Preston bought it for her as her gift for being Morgan. Jarret and I just had to find the one we really wanted and we really love it! She's a little too small still but she'll grow!

She'll be able to sit at the table with it instead of a booster seat!

Lewis is actually letting Morgan pet him. He is doing really well with only 3 legs and it is like we have our old Lewis finally back! She doesn't quite get the petting part and just grabs his hair but he will push against her fist and make her pet him! Otis does the same for her and we couldn't be happier with our animals!

Here is Morgan in her high chair with what she can eat now! She REALLY looks tiny in here!

Our fun days with Rice cereal. I think as much goes into her mouth as does on her shirt or bib!

This was her first day of cereal. It did NOT go as planned!
She hated every bite, so we backed off a couple of days and then she got much better at it!

Thanksgiving with Grandpa Davis

Crazy Uncle Dave!

I turned 4 months old at Grandma and Grandpa Davis' house!

Thanksgiving Day 2008

My christmas present from Blinny that I am already using. It's a great way for mom and dad to have a good 20 minutes to get something done!

Grandma Davis and I in the rocker that Jarret was rocked in as a baby.

Aunt Jess and mommy giving Morgan a bath in the utility sink over Thanksgiving!

I love to play with Ed the Elephant, and Grandpa is fun to play with too!

This is Morgan's Great Aunt Lynne. Liz and Jarret got to spend time with Lynne and Sandy, and play Euchre. It was a ton of fun!

Back to Great-grandma's house with my Aunt Ashley!

And as soon as Great Aunt Rosie walked in I was in her arms!

Here is Grandma Preston and her yummy food! I ate all the grapes while watching the game of cards being played.

So it's been a while since I posted and I apologize! Things always get crazy and I get it done when I have extra time. Morgan had her 4 month check up and immunizations. She did fine with the shots, screamed, but that's to be expected. On Dec. 1, 2008 her stats were:
Length: 24 1/4 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 10 lbs. 14.8 oz. (5th percentile)
Head: 39cm (8th percentile)
So she is a long and skinny girl! We'll update again after Christmas with the pictures from Christmas in Toledo, Fort Wayne and Philadelphia! We are really excited to see Aunt Sarah, Uncle Steve, Madeline and Grant for the first time with Morgan!
Merry Christmas!

Our weekend in the Smokies

Ok, well I would adventure to say that no one would have believed that Tennessee would have had snow before all of you "Yankees", but we did! Kind of, in the mountains at least! Jarret had a few extra vacation days to use so we took a weekend to go to the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. We left on Sunday Nov. 16 and got back today Nov. 17. Morgan had her first night away from home and it went perfectly. So back to the snow. We wanted to go to Clingman's Dome which is the highest point in Tennessee and the second highest point east of the Mississippi. We got to the road that leads to the Dome and it was closed. So we went to the visitor's center and asked why. They said that there was ice and about 6 inches of snow up there. WOW snow in Tennessee!!! So we decided to go back to Laurel Falls which we passed getting to the Dome. We had a great hike.

Here are some pictures of the hike:

Jarret is worried about falling off the cliffs!

I was worried about the bears! Luckily there were none!

This was the view as we were walking down from the falls.

Morgan's first hike and the waterfall at the top!

Here is how Morgan was most of the hike. Many people we passed asked if they could be carried like her!

Then we decided to go into Gatlinburg. As we got back to the road that was closed, it was now open! So we drove the 13 miles to get to the Closed Road sign for Clingman's dome. But it was not a wasted drive! We were able to get to the Tennessee/North Carolina state line (Newfound Gap)

Morgan and Daddy playing in the snow!

The beautiful trees with the gorgeous blue skies!

This was what it looked like when we started our assent.

Here we are at the look out of Newfound Gap. It was only 23 degrees here!

Part of the Appalachian Train if you look closely you see how far it is to Maine!

In the car on the way up. It was so amazing. Jarret and I have driven many places and seen these mountains countless number of times. We have never seen them like this. We had to remind ourselves that we can have this all the time and we need to stop and remember how beautiful the scenery is around here!

As we got back yet again to the visitor's center the road was again closed, so we got in just in time! It was quite icey in places and as we left the lookout there were people coming out of the Dome road so we missed that, but still enjoyed ourselves!
We then went to our hotel and let Morgan take a small nap. We decided to eat at the Bass Pro Shop in Sevierville. We had spinach queson dip and shared a mahi mahi salad. It was yummy and just enough.
On Monday we got a few people done on our shopping list at the Tanger Outlets. I got to check 8 people off my list and got Morgan some new clothes from Carters and we got her first Christmas dress! I also got a pair of hiking boots for the "rugged" trails we plan to do in the Spring!
So our vacation took us only and hour from home but it felt like we were in a totally different place. It was weird to see the same news cast that we would have at home. We really enjoyed ourselves and Morgan's first experience away from home was an enjoyable one! Next step, Thanksgiving!

Halloween and Baptism

Ok, so we have been quite busy. First Halloween! Morgan was allowed to wear 2 costumes. First was the pea outfit that was in another blog. She wore that "reverse" trick-or-treating. We made cupcakes and took them around to the neighbors for all to see her. It was great! Then on Halloween Morgan was a pumpkin. We had about 25 or so kids. I had a few of my past students which is always nice! Matt, Jen and Catherine came over and we had a ball!

This is her 3 month picture taken Oct. 29, 2008

Hey who turned out the lights!

On Nov. 8, 2008 Morgan was baptised at St. Thomas the Apostle church. We were lucky enough to have family come to celebrate with us! I got to make my first big dinner! Everything went well! Here are spme pics of the event and weekend.

Update but no photos today

So we are updating but I don't have any photos uploaded this time. Quick review on what's happening. Morgan is doing well. Not sleeping through the night yet, but I just know it'll come. We are really excited to have family coming down to see us in a few weeks. Liz's mom got to come down and visit because she had a 4 day weekend and we went with Morgan to the mall on Saturday. Morgan was so worn out from all the things to look at. She slept from 830pm to 5am! That was a first. The next morning we went to church and out to dinner at O'Charley's. Morgan is still recouping from all the fresh air and things to look at! This weekend if it isn't too cold Morgan is going to go to the Vonore Youth Football and see all my kids from last year. I miss so many of them and their parents!

Big news at the Davis home.....Lewis(the cat) is now a 3 legged cat! We have been working on fixing his "second bad leg" but couldn't take the bleeding all over the house. There was skin on the wound but it never regrew hair. Antibiotic didn't work and there was nerve damage from the way he walked on the leg. He seemed in pain when he walked and we made the decision. He had it removed on Wed. and is in a cage until Sat. Then in a small room for another 4 days. I am please to say we got him out of the cage to cuddle with him today and he is adjusting very well. He was extremely mad and in pain for the first few days, but that is understandable! I'll update pictures as soon as he doesn't look so hateful in them. It took him 4 days to eat or drink anything and we had to give him Valium to increase his appetite. But he is using the litter box like he should and has started to eat! He is purring when we pet him and has not growled in 3 days now! He also has left the incision alone. All stitches are internal and then glued on the outside. I can't believe his is leaving it alone, but I also think he feels better with the leg gone! We'll keep everyone updated!

A busy two weeks!

So we've been pretty busy these last 2 weeks. Morgan is smiling a lot and she actually giggled for Jarret last Wed. She hasn't done it since but she's trying you can tell. We met with Father Christian on Wed. and set up the date of Nov. 8, 2008 for her baptism.
Morgan looks good in Black and Gold!
Morgan also got a halloween outfit in the mail:
Our Sweet Pea:

She'll post her picture of her other Halloween costume after Halloween, she isn't able to wear it until then!

She was having trouble seeing the fish move but she was able to sit and watch the fish swim!

Jarret and I getting Morgan ready for her first boatride!
The vest is a little big, but it's as small as they come.
She had a good head rest for sleeping.

We went out with Jarret's co-worker and friend Adam, his wife Julie and their 3 boys!

It was around 80 and sunny! While we were out we saw a bald eagle flying. The sun really bounced off the white and it looked awesome!!
Lewis hiding out under the covers

She still LOVES her bathes.
Jarret's definition of a hamburger (See second pic to get the jist of the size)

Where's the beef? Just ask Jarret
